Ever since I started learning Arabic, I’ve had a few instructors who really didn’t know how to teach the foundations and build off of it to better comprehension and conversational Arabic

But Maryam is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had who knows how to cater to her students needs and help them become effective readers speakers and listeners

If there is anyone who is interested, take a class and find out for yourself and you’ll see that she is completely worth it

I had zero knowledge of the Levantine Arabic language when I started with Maryam, but I felt confident enough to take the first step with her after the trial lesson. She guided me on what textbooks to use, encouraged me to take notes during class, and gave suggestions on what supplementary exercises I could do to improve my speaking and writing.

More than a year ago I decided to renew my efforts at learning (Palestinian) Arabic, and started taking weekly conversational classes with Maryam. To my joy, I soon went from a limited theoretical knowledge and vocabulary to being able to keep conversations, and even discussions on a variety of topics. I think Maryam’s classes offer the most important aspects of learning a new language: learning by doing and immediate feedback. And best of all, I often forget I’m in language class. The weekly classes always leaves me motivated to study harder and learn more, while Mariam’s adaptability and flexible scheduling makes the process easy even when learning Arabic is – unfortunately – not your main activity in life. I can’t recommend her enough!

Growing up Ive always wanted to learn Arabic, however i never really did anything about it. I did go through an introductory course with a school years ago but the only thing that stuck with me was ‘bab’ (door) hahaha.

Last yr, i got to know Maryam thru a dear friend and eventhough introvert me was REALLY nervous for a 1-to-1 trial lesson i decided to go through with it since i was going to go for DIY umrah in a few months’ time and figured i will need some help in the communications part.

Alhamdulillah i need not have worried abt being nervous, because i enjoyed it so much and now am at my 19th lesson! (and ongoing, InsyaAllah) As for my trip, Alhamdulillah i managed conversations in full Arabic(!!!) with fellow sisters in Makkah and Madinah. The conversations were pretty basic(names/ages of children/from which country, etc) but my heart felt full masyaAllah, before this i nvr thought it was possible! The lessons also really helped me with speaking to/bargaining with sellers, very useful hehe.

Every week apart from going through learning materials, we will also engage in conversation in Arabic(where i try to work on my comprehension, pronunciation and sentence forming) and it would be tailored to my needs/about anything(we talk about food alot and i love it!😂) We learn so much about the differences in our culture.

As a muslim, it makes me truly happy when the everyday du’as suddenly start making sense little by little

Maryam is honestly amazing. She really tailors each class to your learning style and what you actually need, which makes such a difference. The lessons are always engaging and fun, and she teaches practical phrases and vocabulary that you can use straight away in real conversations.

She’s also so good at breaking down complex grammar rules and explaining them in a way that just makes sense. On top of that, she’s flexible with scheduling and really accommodating if you ever need to make changes.

I did a semester of beginner Arabic at university before, and all I had to show for it were some random, pretty useless phrases (for example, “I work at the United Nations”… which I most definitely do not 😅).

I’ve easily learned far more practical Arabic in Maryam’s classes and have seen huge growth in both my understanding and speaking.

I’d recommend her to anyone wanting to learn Arabic!

Maryam first became my teacher in 2018 teaching me Arabic and showing me Palestinian culture, society and politics while I was staying in al khalil. Since then we continued online Arabic classes which has helped me improve the language after I returned back home. Maryam is a patience teacher knowing on which level she can push you to improve. The classes are more than language classes and you learn to go through different topics depending on your interest. I highly recommend Maryam as an Arabic teacher!

Maryam is an excellent Arabic teacher. She starts with the basics then teaches by immersing you in the language. You learn language the best by practicing and Maryam gets you practicing as soon as you are ready. She is patient and kind and will explain the complicated grammar rules as you go along. I have learned so much Arabic and can carry out full conversations thanks to Maryam and her teaching. You will not find a better teacher!!
